Siheung City hosts forum on social economy and discusses bio-industry growth

Siheung City held the ‘2026 Siheung Social Economy Forum’ to prepare for the implementation of the Social Solidarity Economy Framework Act scheduled for next March. The event focused on improving the local social economy structure and strengthening public-private cooperation. Participants included local officials, social economy enterprise representatives, and experts who discussed the role of local governments in the changing policy environment.

In a separate development, Gyeonggi Province Economic Vice Governor Joo Hyung-cheol visited Siheung to discuss the cultivation of advanced industries. During his visit, he met with Siheung Mayor Lim Byung-taek to explore cooperation in the bio and artificial intelligence sectors. Vice Governor Joo inspected key sites, including the SNU Pharmaceutical Bio Talent Training Center and various industrial zones, emphasizing Gyeonggi Province's commitment to supporting Siheung as a hub for bio-innovation.
