Siheung City to host triathlon and startup expo at Geobukseom

Siheung City is hosting two major events at Geobukseom in September to boost the local economy and promote the area as a marine leisure tourism destination.

The 2026 Geobukseom Startup Expo will take place from September 12 to 13. Organized by the Geobukseom Development Council and the Siheung Industry Promotion Agency, the expo aims to revitalize the local commercial district. The event will offer franchise consultations, startup item introductions, and one-on-one expert counseling. Financial institutions, including the Gyeonggi Credit Guarantee Foundation and Nonghyup, will also provide on-site guidance regarding policy funds and support programs.

Additionally, the 2026 Siheung Mayor's Cup Geobukseom National Triathlon will be held from September 4 to 6. This national-scale competition will feature approximately 1,400 participants competing in both sprint and standard Olympic courses. The event includes swimming, cycling, and running segments through the coastal and urban areas of Geobukseom. Due to the competition, temporary traffic controls and bus route changes will be implemented in certain sections of Geobukseom-ro and the Geobukseom trail during the morning hours of September 5 and 6.
