Siheung City to open first public postpartum care center

Siheung City is launching its first public postpartum care center to reduce the economic burden on childbirth families and support the recovery of mothers and newborns. The center is scheduled to hold its opening ceremony on September 5.

Reservation applications began on August 24 for mothers scheduled to give birth between September 21 and November 30. Eligible applicants include multi-child families and those qualifying for reductions under city ordinances, such as single-parent families, persons with disabilities, and multicultural families. The city plans to select applicants in a 50:50 ratio between multi-child families and those eligible for reductions.

The service offers affordable rates, priced at 420,000 KRW per week or 840,000 KRW for two weeks. Moving forward, the city intends to accept reservations during the last week of every month for mothers due to give birth three months later.
