Siheung City unveils 2027–2030 regional social security plan

Siheung City has announced the final version of its 6th Regional Social Security Plan, covering the period from 2027 to 2030. The plan was developed through research conducted by the Siheung City Research Institute, incorporating citizen feedback gathered via focus group interviews and roundtable discussions.

Under the vision of ‘Creating a Happy City Siheung with Citizens,’ the plan consists of two strategic frameworks encompassing nine major strategies and 43 detailed projects. Twenty-one municipal departments will participate in implementing these initiatives. The social security business strategy focuses on five areas: seamless care, safe living, growth of future generations, prosperous ecology and culture, and citizen health. Key priorities include strengthening the Siheung-style integrated care system, supporting jobs for middle-aged residents, and enhancing safety nets for youth.

The development strategy aims to improve the welfare delivery system by expanding social security benefits, strengthening personnel capabilities, building community governance, and increasing infrastructure. Notably, the city plans to utilize AI-based welfare infrastructure to better identify individuals in welfare blind spots.
