Siheung Gaetgol Festival to be held in September

Siheung City will host the 21st Siheung Gaetgol Festival from September 18 to 20 at the Siheung Gaetgol Ecological Park. Under the theme ‘The Path Drawn by the Sea, Art Created by the Wind,’ the event aims to showcase the area's ecology and salt farm history through various artistic and cultural programs.

The festival features eight themed paths and 21 different experience and performance programs. Key highlights include the ‘Memory of Salt, Dance of Water’ nightly performance in the salt farm area, a stamp rally, a national art competition, and a ‘slow post office.’ Families can participate in ecological activities such as reed crafts, natural dyeing, and upcycling workshops.

Musical performances will include the ‘Concert in Gaetgol,’ featuring various artists, and a street art festival. To promote sustainability, the event will operate as a ‘car-free festival,’ with 44 eco-friendly hydrogen electric shuttle buses providing transportation from major hubs including Siheung City Hall, Oido Station, and Sincheon Station.
