Siirt child treated after leech found in throat
A young child in the Baykan district of Siirt was treated after a leech was discovered in their throat. The child, identified as M. E., had reportedly consumed water from a stream or fountain approximately 10 days prior to the medical intervention.
Following symptoms including nose and mouth bleeding, the child was taken to the Siirt Training and Research Hospital. Otolaryngology specialists, Dr. Yasin Gökçınar and Dr. Aydın Turan, identified the leech behind the right tonsil and successfully removed it. The child's health condition is reported to be good, and they have been discharged from the hospital.
