Siirt hospital performs successful revision knee prosthesis surgery
Surgeons at Siirt Training and Research Hospital have successfully performed a complex total knee prosthesis revision surgery. The procedure was conducted by Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Dr. Enes Erdi Kapukaya on a patient, identified as F. T., who had experienced pain and limited mobility due to the loosening of a previously implanted knee prosthesis.
During the operation, all components of the loosened prosthesis were removed and replaced with a revision knee prosthesis using advanced reconstructive surgical techniques. Medical staff noted that no infection was detected during the procedure. This type of advanced orthopedic intervention had not previously been performed in Siirt, meaning patients often had to be referred to larger cities for such care.
The patient is reported to be in good condition and has entered the rehabilitation phase, noting a significant reduction in pain and improved mobility.
