Siirt memorial honors 37 victims of 1993 PKK attack

A memorial ceremony was held in the Daltepe and Kalkancık villages of the Şirvan district in Siirt to honor 37 people killed by the PKK terrorist organization 33 years ago. The victims included many women and children, such as an 8-month-old infant.

Organized by the Şirvan District Governor's Office under the auspices of the Governor's Office, the event included the recitation of the Quran and prayers for the deceased. Siirt Governor Kemal Kızılkaya spoke at the ceremony, stating that the pain of the 1993 attack remains fresh despite the passing years. Şirvan District Governor Ertuğrul Bayram also attended, pledging to protect the memory of the victims. Local officials, security commanders, and relatives of the victims participated in visiting the graves and laying flowers.
