Siirt residents gather in Ankara for traditional Büryan kebab

Residents of Siirt living in Ankara gathered to enjoy the traditional Büryan kebab, a specialty brought directly from their hometown. To satisfy the community's craving for the authentic dish, 250 portions of the kebab, which is traditionally cooked in pits three meters deep, were transported from Siirt to the capital and reheated for the attendees.

Vehip Emrah, President of the Siirt Products Promotion Association, noted that while local establishments in Ankara have attempted to serve the dish in the past, they have struggled to remain profitable. Consequently, the association opted to bring the authentic meal from Siirt to ensure quality. Participants expressed their appreciation for the event, noting that the unique preparation process and flavor make the dish a significant part of their cultural identity.
