Sijan Williams targeted by scammer posing as long-lost daughter

Sijan Williams, who spent decades searching for her daughter Tilly, was recently targeted by a scammer posing as her biological child. After years of searching through Facebook adoption groups and official registries, Williams received a message from a woman named Cindy who claimed to be Tilly.

The connection appeared credible because the individual provided Tilly’s exact birth date. However, the interaction quickly turned into a traumatic experience as the woman's claims were revealed to be a deception.

Williams' history with her children is marked by tragedy. Her daughter Jessica died in October 1996, an incident for which Williams' former partner, Timothy Jenkins, was sentenced to ten years in prison for manslaughter. Tilly had been placed in foster care at six months old and was eventually adopted at age two, after which contact with Williams ceased once Tilly turned 18.
