Sijie Fude Temple holds religious procession for Earth God birthday

In Yilan, the Sijie Fude Temple celebrated the birthday of the Earth God (Tudigong) alongside the Peacock Mingwang Cultivation Group. The event, marking the 115th anniversary of the temple, featured a cross-religious procession known as the ‘Golden Earth God巡田水’ (patrolling the fields and water) prayer ceremony.

Led by Master Jiladamo, 108 Buddhist disciples participated in a ‘five-body prostration’ ritual, walking twelve steps per bow to express gratitude to the land. The ceremony aimed to honor the Earth God’s role in protecting crops, guarding villages, and ensuring local prosperity through traditional folk customs.
