Sika completes acquisition of Akkim to expand adhesive market

Sika has completed the acquisition of Akkim, a Turkey-based international manufacturer of adhesives and sealants. The move is intended to strengthen Sika’s position in the segment by increasing production capacity and expanding its product portfolio.

Akkim reported net sales exceeding 234 million euros (220 million Swiss francs) in 2025. The acquisition provides Sika with an established distribution network across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Additionally, the deal will allow Sika to establish a new efficient manufacturing and export hub for adhesives and sealants.

The acquisition will also impact the Spanish market, as Sika Spain plans to progressively incorporate Akkim’s product range into its offerings. Christoph Ganz, Sika’s Regional Manager for EMEA, described the acquisition as a significant milestone for reinforcing the company’s market position.
