Sikasso Regional Hospital in Mali receives solar energy installation
The Sikasso Regional Hospital in Mali has been equipped with a new photovoltaic installation to secure its electricity supply. The 1,075 kWh system, which includes solar panels, storage batteries, and smart inverters, aims to ensure the continuity of medical care by preventing interruptions caused by power outages.
Inaugurated on September 19, 2026, the project was part of social initiatives led by the transitional presidency. During the ceremony, Aguibou Dembélé, Special Advisor to Head of State General Assimi Goïta, stated that the goal is to prevent the cessation of medical services due to lack of electricity. Similar solar projects are planned for various health centers across the country.
In addition to the hospital, ten local artisans—including metalworkers, a carpenter, and a tailor—received solar equipment to stabilize their power supply. Regional Governor Marie Claire Dembélé emphasized the necessity of constant electricity for lighting, medical equipment, and the preservation of medicines, while also noting a need for additional ambulances in the region.
