Sikkim High Court orders review of NH-10 odd-even policy
The Sikkim High Court has directed the State government to revisit its odd-even vehicle movement policy on the NH-10 stretch between Mayfair Junction, Ranipool, and Zero Point Junction in Gangtok. A Division Bench comprising Chief Justice A Muhamed Mustaque and Justice Bhaskar Raj Pradhan issued this direction during a hearing for a public interest litigation.
The state government informed the court that it is currently reviewing the restrictions. The matter has been adjourned for three weeks, with the next hearing scheduled for October 15. The policy was originally introduced due to concerns regarding fuel availability, though previous reviews had indicated adequate buffer stocks of petrol and diesel were available.
