Silca launches Super Secret 2.0 bike wax, claiming 350‑400 km lifespan

Silca has introduced the Super Secret 2.0 drip wax for bike chains, saying the new formula extends service life to 350‑400 km per application and improves efficiency by saving 0.6‑0.8 watts compared with the original Super Secret product, and up to 7 watts versus competing lubes. The wax retains its performance in wet conditions by replacing the previous water‑based emulsion with a wax‑based one and incorporates tungsten disulfide (WS2) and a revised particle structure.

Silca reports a roughly 20 % increase in longevity and better mud and rain resistance, which the company expects to help riders maintain drivetrain efficiency. The product, priced at €30 and available immediately, was developed with input from Purdue University and the Visma‑Lease a Bike racing team.
