Silence Therapeutics stock rises 111 percent on successful clinical trial results
Silence Therapeutics, a British biotechnology company specializing in RNA interference (RNAi), has seen its stock rise by 111 percent since March. The growth follows successful interim results from a Phase II study of its drug candidate, Divesiran (SLN124), intended to treat Polycythaemia vera. In the study, the drug showed an 88 percent response rate compared to 19 percent in the placebo group.
In contrast, Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical experienced a 46 percent drop in share price after a drug for a rare genetic disease failed to meet its primary endpoint in a Phase III clinical trial.
