Silencio club to launch pop-up residency at Berlin’s former Watergate
The legendary Parisian nightclub Silencio is launching a pop-up residency at the former Watergate location in Berlin. The move follows the closure of Watergate at the end of 2024 after 22 years of operation due to rising administrative costs and financial pressures.
Scheduled to run from October 30 until May 2027, the pop-up celebrates the 15th anniversary of Silencio, a club originally founded in Paris and famously associated with filmmaker David Lynch. The Berlin project features a redesigned interior by Marc Leschelier, Studio Karhard, Studio Raito, and Bureau Borsche.
A pre-opening event held on September 9 featured performances by Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, BASHKKA, and Valentina Magaletti. Silencio has previously established temporary locations in cities such as New York, Venice, Miami, and Cannes.
