Silent Book Club supports banned titles amid rising book challenges
The Silent Book Club, an international organization with over 2,200 chapters across 70 countries, has announced its support for books facing challenges and bans. Co-founder Guinevere de la Mare stated that the club “stands with the banned” as more titles are challenged across the nation ahead of the November elections.
Founded by de la Mare and Laura Gluhanich, the club was designed to allow readers to enjoy books at their own pace in a social setting without the pressure of traditional book club assignments. The organization facilitates reading through various formats, including local chapter meetings and international reading retreats.
