Silent Hill: Townfall receives update to adjust difficulty and puzzles

Silent Hill: Townfall has received a significant update (version 1.4) aimed at reducing player frustration by adjusting difficulty and mechanics. A primary focus of the patch is the enemy known as ‘The Weight’. On Story and Normal difficulty settings, the creature’s grab attacks no longer result in instant death, though they still deal high damage.

The update also refines the creature’s artificial intelligence to prevent it from lingering too long in one spot or pursuing the player with excessive aggression. Other combat adjustments include reduced enemy sensitivity to sound from running or shooting, and a decrease in the frequency of enemy counter-attacks during melee combat. Additionally, enemies will no longer attempt to grab the player while they are actively blocking with a melee weapon.

Gameplay improvements extend to puzzles, specifically the ‘Remote Systems Control’ and ‘Aux Line’ enigmas, which now include collectible manuals or revised layouts to assist players. The patch also addresses technical issues, such as a progression blocker in Part 5, frame pacing refinements, and various UI and hardware compatibility fixes for ultrawide monitors and AZERTY keyboards.
