Konami releases Silent Hill: Townfall in Japan and Scotland

Konami has released Silent Hill: Townfall, a new installment in the survival horror franchise. Departing from the series' traditional United States setting, the narrative takes place in Japan and a small Scottish fishing village called St. Amelia.

The game features a first-person perspective and follows protagonist Simon Ordell. Critics note that the title emphasizes survival horror and tension over action, utilizing body horror and themes of grief and loss. While the combat is described as slow and cumbersome to reflect the protagonist's vulnerability, the game is praised for its atmospheric style.

In conjunction with the release, a highly rare promotional item has surfaced on the secondary market. A functional replica of the CRTV Pocket Television used by the protagonist, limited to only 100 units distributed to press and creators, is reportedly valued at nearly $1,000.
