Silent Hill Townfall to be set in 1990s Scotland

The upcoming video game Silent Hill Townfall, developed by Glasgow-based Screen Burn Interactive, will be set in 1990s Scotland on the fictional, fog-shrouded island of St. Amelia.

Director and writer Jon McKellan stated that the choice of Scotland was driven by the developers' personal familiarity with the region's landscapes, architecture, and climate. The studio aimed to use the natural fog and local atmosphere to create a setting that feels authentic to the series' identity rather than an artificial recreation.

Silent Hill Townfall is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026, for PS5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. This project is part of Konami's strategy to allow different international studios to bring unique cultural perspectives and sensibilities to the franchise.
