Silent Hill: Townfall to utilize PS5 features like ray tracing and 3D audio
Sony and Konami have released a feature trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall, detailing how the upcoming title will utilize PlayStation 5 hardware to enhance immersion. The game is scheduled for release on September 24, 2026, for both PC and PS5.
Technical enhancements for the console version include 4K resolution and ray tracing to provide detailed, near-photorealistic environments, specifically focusing on lighting effects like fog and flashlight beams. The game will also utilize 3D audio to help players position sounds such as footsteps and creature movements within the game world.
The DualSense controller will play a central role in gameplay through haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Players can use the controller's motion sensors to tilt a portable CRTV to tune into analog signals, and the adaptive triggers will provide physical resistance during combat and firearm use.
