Silesia Diamond League sees record crowds and Polish milestones
The fifth edition of the Silesia Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, part of the Diamond League, took place at Stadion Śląski in Chorzów, attracting 38,073 spectators.
In the women's 1500m, Klaudia Kazimierska set a new Polish record with a time of 3:55.59, marking her first place in national rankings and eighth in European standings. The race was won by Tsige Duguma in 3:55.06. In the men's pole vault, Armand Duplantis secured victory with a height of 6.20m.
American athletes saw significant results, including Kenny Bednarek taking second in the men's 100m (9.87s) and Rai Benjamin finishing second in the 400m with a personal best of 43.83s. Ethan Strand claimed his first Diamond League victory in the men's 1500m, while Ja’Kobe Tharp won the 110m hurdles in 13.05s.
