Silesian cultural institutions receive regional awards

Several cultural institutions in the Silesia region of Poland have received prestigious awards for their contributions to heritage and education.

The Upper Silesian Ethnographic Park in Chorzów was honored with the Culinary Tourism Laurel 2026 in the ‘Place’ category. The award recognizes the museum's efforts in promoting traditional regional cuisine and intangible culinary heritage through the presentation of local customs and historical food preparation methods.

In Gliwice, two institutions received the Golden Sunflower 2026 awards for their work with children. The Municipal Public Library in Gliwice won in the ‘Language’ category for the PSTRYK! Children's Literature Festival, which promotes reading through educational activities. Additionally, the Artistic Foundry Branch of the Museum in Gliwice received an award in the ‘Logic’ category for its project, ‘Local Heritage and Creative Activity of Children,’ which integrates regional history with creative learning.
