Silesian Film Location 2026 announces five finalists

Five locations in the Silesian Voivodeship have been named finalists for the ‘Silesian Film Location 2026’ competition. The finalists include Wojciech Korfanty Avenue in Gliwice, the Hunting Lodge in Promnice, the Dismantling Centers Branch in Ruda Śląska, the Ruda River in Rybnik, and the Schoen Palace in Sosnowiec.

The selection process involved a commission of film industry specialists who evaluated 28 original entries based on architectural, historical, and scenic potential for film production. The industrial site in Ruda Śląska, spanning nearly 3.8 hectares, was noted for its raw architecture and suitability for historical, crime, or science fiction genres.

The final winner will be determined by an online public vote, which remains open until September 18. Participants are permitted to cast one vote per day from a single IP address.
