Silesian Museum to revitalize Bartosz shaft power station

The Silesian Museum in Katowice has signed a contract to revitalize the Bartosz shaft power station. The 19th-century brick building, part of the former Katowice mine, will be transformed into a multifunctional space for concerts, exhibitions, and artistic events.

The project includes the creation of a multi-purpose hall, a foyer, creative rooms, and event support facilities. The tower section of the building will house gastronomy and museum guest rooms. The revitalization is scheduled for completion in 2029, coinciding with the institution's centenary.
