Silesian Police celebrate 100 years of district officer service

The Silesian Voivodeship Police Headquarters held ceremonies to mark the conclusion of the regional stage of the 2026 ‘District Officer of the Year’ competition. The event coincided with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the district officer position within the Polish Police.

During the celebrations, twelve district officers from the Rybnik unit were awarded honorary badges ‘For Merits to the Katowice Voivodeship Police Headquarters’. The awards were presented by Provincial Police Commander Mariusz Krzystyniak and Deputy Commander Jacek Stelmach. The event was attended by various officials, including Silesian Voivode Marek Wójcik and representatives from the Police School in Katowice.
