Silicon Box to launch semiconductor facility in Novara, Italy
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is scheduled to visit Agognate on November 9 to attend the launch ceremony for a new Silicon Box production site. The project represents a 3.2 billion euro investment by the Singapore-based multinational company.
The facility will focus on advanced semiconductor packaging and testing. Once fully operational, the plant is expected to create 1,600 direct jobs, serving as a strategic hub for Southern Europe due to its location near major European commercial corridors.
The project timeline includes completing the design phase by 2026, with construction set to begin in the spring of 2027. The company aims to begin chip production in 2029 and reach full operational capacity by 2033.
