Silicon Labs launches AI-integrated SDK for embedded development

Silicon Labs has moved its Simplicity AI SDK into public beta, integrating AI assistants into the embedded development process. The SDK does not include its own language model; instead, it allows developers to use existing tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Codex by providing technical context for hardware and software through MCP servers and development tools.

As part of the Simplicity Design Intelligence suite, the new Hardware Intent tool aims to consolidate various project specifications, including product requirements, schematics, and hardware documentation. This tool is designed to check implementations for conflicts or deviations, assisting developers with the configuration of pins, peripherals, and software.
