Silicon Labs opens new Austin R&D center with Texas CHIPS Act support
Silicon Labs has opened a new research and development (R&D) laboratory at its headquarters in Austin, Texas. The facility is designed for advanced chip design, testing, and validation, aimed at accelerating wireless semiconductor innovation and supporting next-generation IoT technologies.
The expansion was supported in part by a $23 million grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF), which was established through the Texas CHIPS Act. The opening was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by company leadership and representatives from the State of Texas.
