Silicon Motion launches MonTitan SSD kit for Agentic AI storage

Silicon Motion Technology Corp announced the MonTitan SSD Reference Design Kit (RDK), a new reference platform built around its patented PerformaShape™ technology. The kit is aimed at enterprise AI infrastructure that runs continuous, multi‑step inference and large key‑value caches, enabling SSDs to act as a persistent memory layer for KV cache offload and autonomous AI agents.

PerformaShape™ introduces a multi‑dimensional shaping hardware architecture, integrated performance monitoring and an NVMe TP4176 API to maintain predictable QoS, sustained throughput and endurance under dynamic, write‑intensive Agentic AI workloads. The technology is embedded in Silicon Motion’s SM8366 PCIe 5.0 and SM8466 PCIe 6.0 enterprise SSD controllers, providing manufacturers a scalable foundation to develop AI server and data‑center storage solutions and shorten development cycles.
