Silivri search continues for 10 missing crew after ship collision

Search and rescue operations are entering their seventh day to locate 10 missing crew members following a maritime collision off the coast of Silivri. The incident occurred on September 2, when the Turkish-flagged cargo ship Tuğberk İmamoğlu collided with the vessel Alsu, approximately 18 miles south of Silivri.

The collision caused the Tuğberk İmamoğlu to sink. Following the discovery of the wreckage on the fourth day of the operation, teams from the Coast Guard Command, the Directorate General of Coastal Safety, and the Naval Forces Command have focused efforts on reaching the missing personnel.

Technicians are utilizing advanced sonar systems and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) to conduct underwater searches. Current evaluations include the possibility of using a specialized system to raise the living quarters of the vessel to search for survivors. Families of the missing crew remain gathered at a crisis center in Silivri, awaiting updates from authorities.
