Silleda municipal services complete road clearing and festival cleanup

The Silleda City Council has completed its summer reinforcement clearing of municipal paved roads, finishing the project 15 days earlier than last year. The operation covered more than 650 kilometers of ditches, shoulders, and slopes. The project, which involved an investment of over 91,000 euros, was executed by a single company to improve coordination and efficiency. In addition to road maintenance, the contract included cleaning public spaces such as the dog park and areas used for local festivities.

Separately, municipal services completed cleaning and conditioning at Os Caneiros following the first of the local festivities. Approximately ten tons of waste, primarily plastic bottles, bags, and cardboard, were removed due to high attendance. While cleaning continues in the riverbed and surrounding paths, authorities are preparing the site for the second scheduled event on August 25. Additionally, the council reported the theft of sound equipment, including speakers and cabling, during the night preceding the celebration.
