Silleda receives state funding for rural entrepreneurship project

The municipality of Silleda has been awarded 150,456.69 euros from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge to support the ‘Silleda Co-Labora’ rural entrepreneurship project. The total investment for the initiative will reach 167,500.33 euros, with the local council covering the remaining balance through its own funds.

The project focuses on transforming the Área 33 business incubator and the Cira producer center into two interconnected smart buildings. These facilities will utilize a shared digital platform to manage reservations, access, and energy consumption, such as lighting and climate control. The upgrade will also include improved connectivity and smart sensors.

Key features include coworking spaces for professionals and entrepreneurs, as well as enhanced training and online promotion equipment in Área 33. In Cira, the council will establish dedicated areas for small-scale enterprises to perform packaging, labeling, and final product preparation locally.
