Silleda tourism route promotes natural and cultural heritage
The Xunta de Galicia is promoting a new tourism route in Silleda, Pontevedra, designed to highlight the municipality’s natural and cultural heritage. Part of the Galicia Calidade strategy and the Xacobeo 2027 program, the itinerary features six key stops, including Santa María de Abades, Fervenza do Toxa, the Carboeiro Monastery, Castro de Toiriz, the Church of San Pedro de Ansemil, and Ponte do Demo.
Visitors can explore a landscape characterized by Atlantic forests, including oak and chestnut trees, alongside Romanesque architecture and archaeological sites. A major highlight is the Fervenza do Toxa, a 30-meter waterfall located where the Toxa and Deza rivers meet. Official recommendations suggest using viewpoints to observe the falls before descending the trails to the base.
