Silotagus explores logistics partnership with Salamanca platform
Silotagus, the leading Portuguese port operator for food bulk commodities, has expressed interest in collaborating with the Salamanca Intermodal Logistics Platform managed by Zaldesa. A technical delegation from the Lisbon-based company visited the Salamanca facilities to evaluate infrastructure and explore opportunities in food logistics, goods distribution, and railway mobility for solid food bulks.
The discussions focused on the strategic role of the Salamanca platform within the Atlantic Corridor, specifically regarding new intermodal connections with Portuguese ports. The meeting, which included representatives from Tracción Rail, aimed to analyze how the platform can facilitate international logistics flows between Spain and Portugal.
Silotagus, which is 100% owned by the Lisbon Port Administration, processes an average of 3.4 million tons of cereals and flour annually. The Salamanca City Council aims to consolidate its logistics platform as a key node in the northwestern Iberian Peninsula to attract investment and strengthen international connections.
