SILS files complaint over highway fuel prices in Italy
The Italian Entertainment Workers' Union (SILS) has filed a formal complaint with the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM), the MIMIT price monitoring body, and the Guardia di Finanza regarding fuel prices at highway service stations.
The complaint focuses on the period between August 7 and August 24, 2026, specifically targeting high-traffic tourist routes such as the A14 Adriatica. SILS reported numerous complaints regarding fuel costs during peak travel days.
Filippo Regis, National President of SILS, stated that high fuel prices disproportionately affect mobile professionals like musicians, DJs, and technicians. He noted that for these workers, fuel is both a personal expense and a significant business cost that directly reduces their earnings.
