Silva and Cação eliminated at CT Porto Cup

Portuguese players Frederico Silva and Tiago Cação have been eliminated in the opening round of the CT Porto Cup, an ATP Challenger event held at the Clube de Ténis do Porto.

Frederico Silva, ranked 239th, lost to Bolivian Hugo Déllien in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3. Tiago Cação, ranked 665th, was defeated by Spain's Alejandro Moro Cañas with a score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Cação had previously secured his place in the main draw after defeating American Alafia Ayeni in the qualifying rounds, marking his return to a Challenger main draw for the first time since June 2022.

Following these exits, only two Portuguese singles players remain in the tournament: Francisco Rocha and Tiago Pereira.
