Silvana Armani debuts SS27 ‘Evolution’ collection

Silvana Armani, creative director of women’s collections and niece of the late Giorgio Armani, presented her second ready-to-wear collection, titled ‘Evolution’, for the Armani SS27 season.

The collection serves as both a progression of the brand’s legacy and a tribute to its history. One notable design featured on the runway, worn by model Agnese Zogla, was inspired by a 1942 photograph of Giorgio Armani in his First Communion attire, featuring a dark tailored suit with a white flower and matching gloves.

In a departure from the founder’s traditional preferences, the collection embraced cotton for items such as trousers, shorts, and tops. The aesthetic leaned heavily into the 1980s era, utilizing neutral tones of cream, black, and gold, alongside sequins, crystals, and structured shoulders to evoke a sense of high-glamour after-hours attire.
