Silver Dollar City announces 2027 expansion and new festival

Silver Dollar City has announced a major expansion and new programming for 2027 as part of a 500 million dollar, 10-year investment plan.

A new spring festival, ‘Country Music & Comfort Cooking’, will run from April 1 to May 3, 2027. The event will feature over 1,000 live performances, including headlining concerts by Easton Corbin, Lonestar, and Diamond Rio. The festival will also include a new dining and dance hall serving Southern comfort food such as Nashville hot macaroni and cheese and chicken and waffles. Additionally, the Opera House will debut ‘On Air: A History of Country Music’, a 45-minute theatrical production.

In terms of park attractions, a new family rollercoaster named ‘Miner's Mountain Express’ is scheduled to debut in 2027. Developed by MACK Rides, the attraction will be themed around the fictional Marvel Cave Mining Company and will replace the historic Thunderation coaster, which is set to close on January 2, 2027.

The expansion also includes the opening of the Silver Dollar City Resort, the park's first official hotel. The 262-room facility will feature a restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, and extensive event and convention spaces.
