Silver Dollar City announces Miner’s Mountain Express coaster for 2027

Silver Dollar City has announced the Miner’s Mountain Express, a new family roller coaster scheduled to open in 2027 in Branson, Missouri. Built by MACK Rides, the attraction is set to be the longest family coaster in the Midwest. The ride is inspired by the history of the Marvel Cave Mining Company and will feature a 15-story headframe from a working Missouri mine.

The new coaster arrives as the park prepares for the retirement of its long-running Thunderation mine train coaster, which is scheduled for its final operating day on January 2, 2027.

The project is part of a major expansion strategy for Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts. This includes the debut of the 262-room Silver Dollar City Resort in 2027, which will feature a full-service restaurant, pools, and meeting spaces. These developments are part of a larger $500 million investment plan over the next decade to develop approximately 1,200 acres adjacent to the park.
