Calabria M5S opposes differentiated autonomy and healthcare reorganization

In the Calabria Regional Council, Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S) has filed Motion 57 to oppose the proposed 'Autonomia Differenziata' project. Regional councilors Elisabetta Barbuto and Elisa Scutellà are calling for an immediate halt to preliminary agreements between the Government and Northern regions until the full funding of Essential Levels of Assistance (LEP) and the Equalization Fund is secured.

The motion demands that President Roberto Occhiuto and the Regional Council commit to legal action via the Constitutional Court against any measures harming Calabria's financial autonomy. Additionally, the M5S is seeking a moratorium on regional healthcare contracts to prevent the depletion of local hospital resources.

Separately, Elisa Scutellà has expressed concerns regarding a new agreement between the Annunziata Hospital and the ASP of Cosenza. The agreement establishes a Hub & Spoke model for Pathological Anatomy, designating the hospital as the central hub for the Corigliano-Rossano and Castrovillari facilities. While the current deliberation excludes immediate staff transfers or spending changes, Scutellà warned that the reorganization must not lead to the weakening or closure of essential services in the Cosenza territory.
