Silver mining sector sees profit growth and expanded project reserves

IMPACT Silver reported a significant financial turnaround for Q2 2026, moving from a $2.0 million loss in the previous year to a $2.8 million net profit. The company saw revenue rise 124% to $22.0 million, driven by higher silver prices and increased grades at its Zacualpan operation. For the first half of 2026, net income reached $14.1 million. While Zacualpan production rose 39%, the Plomosas operation recorded a $2.0 million gross loss amid a temporary suspension of underground mining.

In Australia, Silver Mines received a positive assessment from stockbroking firm Morgans following the release of a definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the Bowdens silver project. Morgans raised its 12-month price target for Silver Mines from 40c to 43c, citing a materially larger and longer-life project. The DFS indicates the Bowdens project's ore reserve has increased by 30% to 93.5Moz of silver, with a potential operational life extending to 26 years.
