Silver potential outpaces gold due to industrial demand

Silver is identified as a metal with significant growth potential compared to gold due to its unique demand structure. According to Kenny Zhu, Director of Research and Investment Strategy at Sprott, silver benefits from both investment demand and heavy industrial application.

Approximately 50-60% of silver demand stems from industrial sectors, including solar panel manufacturing and electronics, while the remaining 40-50% is driven by investment and monetary purposes. This dual role can amplify price volatility when capital flows into the market.

Furthermore, silver supply is often constrained because it is frequently produced as a byproduct of mining for other metals like copper and gold. Consequently, mining companies often prioritize the production of their primary metal, meaning silver supply may not increase rapidly even if silver prices rise significantly.
