Silver Waves Media names impactful mid-major assistant coaches

Silver Waves Media has released its eighth annual list of the ‘100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistant Coaches,’ recognizing several collegiate basketball staff members for their influence in the industry.

Murray State men’s basketball Assistant Coach Cullen Neal was named to the list. Neal joined the Racers' staff prior to the 2025-26 season and contributed to a 20-13 season that included a third-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference and a postseason berth in the National Invitation Tournament.

Northeastern University assistant coaches Brian McDonald and Matt Janning were also included in the recognition. McDonald, currently in his 17th season with the Huskies, has been part of a staff that secured multiple NCAA tournament appearances and regular-season titles. Janning, entering his third season at Northeastern, brings experience from a 13-year professional basketball career spanning the NBA and international leagues.
