Silverstone hosts GT Cup Championship and BRDC Classic racing weekends

The GT Cup Championship returned to Silverstone on 30 July 2026 for a two‑race weekend, featuring a 100‑minute race on the circuit that serves as the home of British motorsport. Triple M Motorsport’s Felix Livesey and Charlie Digby added three more wins to their season tally, while Team BRIT entered a Ferrari 488 Challenge with drivers Neville Voss and Ali Topley. Other notable entries included Topcats Racing’s second Lamborghini Huracan, Innovation Racing’s Sam Branston and James Wareing leading the Group GTO standings, and a guest Aston Martin Vantage GT4 from Full Send Racing.

During the same period, the BRDC Classic historic event at Silverstone showcased the new GP Icons and Endurance Icons programmes. Thirty‑six Formula One cars from 1966‑1985 raced in the GP Icons category, with Lukas Halusa winning in a Brabham BT49. The Endurance Icons featured a 23‑car field of GTs and prototypes, including an Audi R8, Bentley Speed 8 and a debuting Cadillac. Keith Frieser claimed victory in a Zytek 09S, while father‑and‑son duo Zak and Max Brown won the GT2B class in a Ferrari 458 GT2. The weekend also saw appearances by track‑cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy and driver Phil Barker, the original RML race engineer, overseeing the programmes.
