The municipality of Silves will celebrate its Municipality Day from September 2 to 4, marking 837 years since the city's conquest. The three-day program features a variety of cultural, musical, and commemorative events.

On September 2, the celebrations begin with the opening of André Boto’s photography exhibition, ‘Surrealismos’, at the Silves Municipal Library, followed by a concert by the Sociedade Filarmónica Silvense featuring Sofia Escobar at the Silves Castle.

September 3 includes the formal signing of a contract to donate the documentary and archival heritage of the Cork Museum to the municipality to aid in local memory preservation. The day also features a book presentation by Manuel Neto dos Santos and the Municipal Merit Distinction Ceremony at the Silves Castle. Additionally, the Municipal Archaeology Museum celebrates its 36th anniversary with free admission from September 3 to 6.
