Silvi dedicates public square to financier Giulio Alberto Pacchione

The city of Silvi has officially dedicated a public square to the memory of Giulio Alberto Pacchione, a 28-year-old financier, mountain rescuer, and alpinist. The dedication ceremony was attended by local administration, regional representatives from Abruzzo, the Guardia di Finanza, and the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps.

Pacchione passed away in August 2023 on the Mangart mountain in the Julian Alps while performing his duties alongside colleague Lorenzo Paroni. The ceremony aimed to transform the community's grief into a lasting legacy, using the square as a space to pass on Pacchione's values of service, courage, and professional competence to future generations.
