Silvia Abravanel declares R$ 47.5 million in assets for federal deputy candidacy
Silvia Abravanel, daughter of the late broadcaster Silvio Santos, has declared assets totaling approximately R$ 47.5 million to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) as she registers her candidacy for federal deputy in São Paulo representing the PSD.
The declaration includes real estate, business interests, and various financial investments, such as a R$ 17.2 million LCI application. Her assets also include holdings in audiovisual production companies and agricultural investments.
The filing highlights an ongoing legal dispute between the Abravanel family and the State of São Paulo regarding the inheritance of Silvio Santos, who passed away in August 2024. The conflict centers on the Imposto sobre Transmissão Causa Mortis e Doação (ITCMD) applied to over R$ 429 million held in offshore accounts in the Bahamas and the United States. Silvia’s declaration includes two judicial deposits totaling over R$ 9.3 million related to this tax litigation. The family's defense contests the calculated tax amount, citing a lack of specific regulations for foreign assets and existing debts left by the deceased.
