Silvia Ovelar Ayala resigns from Paraguay Judiciary

Silvia Antonella Ovelar Ayala, the 22-year-old daughter of Senator Silvio “Beto” Ovelar, has resigned from her position as a jurisdictional assistant II within the Paraguayan Judiciary. Her resignation follows public scrutiny regarding her attendance records.

Records indicate that between August and September, Ovelar Ayala attended work on only 12 of the 42 business days. During this period, she accumulated 20 unjustified absences, 10 personal leaves, and 10 health-related leaves, in addition to frequent late arrivals. The Council of Superintendence of the Supreme Court of Justice has accepted her resignation. She had been serving as an interim official with a monthly salary of G. 3,266,690.
